Glazing Bars, Shootbolt Keeps & Finishing Up
10.1 Glazing bars are supplied as 10m bar lengths (2x5m) with 13m tape - the tape will need to be bonded to the lengths of the bar
10.2 Once the glass is fully installed, ensure the glass is clean (we recommend using a saline solution or glass primer)
10.3 Measure the gap between glass divides and cut the glazing bars to suit
10.4 Clean the underside of the glazing bar using a saline solution or primer
10.5 Place tape on the underside of the glazing bar, ensuring it remains central along the bar (we recommend that a roller is used for this to ensure strongest bond)
10.6 Before removing the red backing, offer the bars up to the glass and check for size, trim as required
10.7 Remove red backing of the tape and press bar firmly onto the glass
11.1 Check first to ensure there is no danger to any underfloor wiring or heating
11.2 Position the slave door at the closed position and measure and mark the bottom shootbolt location
11.3 Drill a 19mm hole, to a depth of 45mm (for a completely flush finish, a further 27mm hole can be drilled to 3mm deep, centralised over the existing hole)
11.4 Place the shootbolt keep into the hole and press down into location (a suitable adhesive can be used)
12.1 Place the cover strips provided into the frame, these sections will clip into the frame profile - if required, these may need to be gently tapped into the profile using a block and rubber mallet
12.2 Clean the frame, sashes, and glass with appropriate cleaning solutions
12.3 Seal around the outer frame as required
12.4 To improve acoustic performance and frame rigidity, expanding foam or foam tape can be used around the frame
12.5 Where necessary, the brush gasket can be removed from underneath the door sashes. (e.g. when used with high pile carpet)
